We are delighted to welcome you to TheDepth Community. Although the platform has just launched, many of you have been on this journey for a while. Please share some of your story and introduce yourself.
I’m 39 and a father of 4 children. We live in beautiful Montana. I work as an accountant for a local Defense Contractor.
I listened to a single teaching by Andre Rabe in 2018, and it became so clear to me that the Bible was not what I had been taught. Then, I started reading. I’m so grateful for all of the books curated by the Rabe’s to help me rebuild a sense of purpose and meaning while walking through personal pain.
I’m going back through a bunch of these books that I read about 5-8 years ago with fresh eyes. They helped me reconstruct my view of the world, myself, and God, after having lost a sense of meaning from the deconstruction of my Christian faith. And now I revisiting them and gaining so much more understanding than the first time through. I’m in the process of another large unwanted dissolution of meaning (my marriage of 14 years), so the timing of this group’s introduction is a light to my darkness.
Happy to have others to journey with. Andre, thank you again friend for your impact on my life.

I decided I’d finally crack open your latest book Processing Mimetic Reality. Absolutely loved it – and it inspired me to refamiliarize myself with Girard and Whitehead. I’m driving 1 hour each way to work at the moment, which gives me ample time for audiobooks. I went through Genesis of Desire by Jean-Michel Oughourlian again, which makes Mimetic theory more personal. When I have time to read, I’m going back through Process-Relational Philosophy: An Introduction to Alfred North Whitehead (C. Robert Mesle). Maybe one day I’ll actually read Whitehead himself if I think I’m up to that task.
I REALLY want to read the rest of Girard’s work, as I’m really intrigued by how heavily cited they are in other books. I’m also finishing Maps of Meaning by Jordan Peterson, though that is taking me quite a while.
